Chinese Pioneer Apricot

Full Sun. Low to moderate water needs. This late-blooming apricot is ideal for higher elevations and areas prone to late spring frosts. A “sweet-pit” apricot (the pit is edible and tastes of almond), it bears golden yellow fruits with a reddish blush at an early age. The clingstone fruit ripens mid-July. Trees are self-fruitful but yields improve with cross-pollination.
